Eastern Emeralds slot

Eastern Emeralds is a Quickspin release from 2018 that sets its 5×3 grid against Chinese and Asian mythology, with animals carrying much of the visual weight. It runs on 20 paylines and pairs a 96.58% RTP with high volatility. The headline attraction is a free spins round where you choose your own volatility.

Operators can run lower-RTP versions of the same slot, so check the in-game info panel before you spin.

Wild multipliers

Wild symbols carry multipliers, and the multiplier increases for each Wild on screen. The more Wilds land together, the higher the combined multiplier applied to a winning line. This is the core mechanic outside the bonus round, and it means a single spin can pay considerably more than the base symbols suggest.

Free spins with four modes

The free spins round starts with a choice: you pick one of four modes. Each mode offers a different number of spins and a different multiplier structure, so the choice is really a choice about variance. The most volatile option gives 6 spins with the potential to reach the top payout. The other modes differ in their spin counts and multipliers.

Choosing a mode

If you want longer sessions from a single trigger, the modes with more spins are the sensible pick. If you are chasing the maximum payout, the 6-spin option is the one that carries that potential. It changes how the wins are distributed.

Eastern Emeralds suits players who are comfortable with high volatility and want a say in how the bonus round plays out. The mode selection is the most interesting part of the design, because it lets you match the bonus to your bankroll.

A few practical points. High volatility means longer dry spells are normal, so size your bets with that in mind. The wide stake range helps here, since you can keep individual bets small while you wait for a trigger. Decide in advance which free spins mode you will pick, because choosing under pressure rarely goes well. Treat the top payout as a ceiling.

We think Eastern Emeralds holds up well for a 2018 release. The wild multiplier mechanic is simple to follow, and the four free spins modes give the bonus round more decision-making than most slots of its era. The high volatility and the maximum win will appeal to players who want a real shot at a large payout, and the RTP is a solid figure.

The caveats matter, though. That RTP is not guaranteed, because lower-paying versions exist and some operators use them. The theme is familiar territory, and the base game can feel slow between triggers. We would suggest checking the info panel for the RTP your operator is actually running.
