Our Take

Elk built its reputation as an indie-minded Stockholm studio before it was acquired by Light & Wonder, and the games still carry that smaller-studio character: distinctive art direction, unconventional mechanics, fewer templated releases. The small catalogue is deliberate, tracking with a studio that prioritizes design distinctiveness over volume chasing. The MGA and UKGC licences put it on solid regulatory ground. Being part of a much larger corporate parent now hasn't visibly flattened the house style, at least not yet. Worth watching as the acquisition matures.
